OBJECTIVES AND TASKS OF THE ASSOCIATION

Objectives

  • Organization of interdisciplinary and supra-regional cooperation between companies and scientific facilities and institutions
  • Platform for companies along the entire value chain of marine technology (underwater and deep-sea technology) for the holistic presentation and showcasing of existing expertise in Germany
  • Pooling of know-how and more effective use of individual resources and competencies for the targeted development of system solutions and maritime value chains
  • Strengthening local companies and securing jobs that have already been created
  • Attracting new companies from the marine technology sector and creating new jobs
  • Realization of testing, trial and demonstration opportunities for marine technology product developments in a Rostock competence center
  • Application and implementation of state or EU-funded projects
  • Promoting the positive perception of marine technologies and those involved as an innovative economic sector through active public relations work

 

Tasks

  • Coordinates cooperation and supports networking & promotes the establishment of a growing member base 
  • Promotion of the exchange of interests and information as well as the cultivation of contacts to establish cooperation with inter/national industry contacts and networks 
  • Initiation of development and cooperation projects between member companies and scientific institutions
  • Preparation and commission of market and technology studies 
  • Organization of events to strengthen the members and to exchange knowledge/experience between science & industry 
  • Representation of the common interests of members vis-à-vis trade associations, other organizations and the public
  • Researching, publishing and dissemination of industry information and research and development results as far as possible 
  • Monitoring of the industries and general development trends and initiates the development of strategies to build up the necessary key skills 
  • Support of members in research and development projects
  • develops solutions to eliminate bottlenecks for the German maritime industry in the area of testing and trial facilities
